Since 1981, I've been in management. My first success was managing a law firm of 20 people as it grew into a business of almost 100 people. Due in large part to my leadership and progressive philosophies, both the lawyers and the staff were well compensated, had a high level of benefits, including a comprehensive and well managed retirement plan, and remain friends to this day.

After the law firm closed, I became the first Director of the Law Office Management Assistance Program in Arizona. This was a Supreme Court mandated program for the mandatory lawyer bar in Arizona, where I created a support and advice program for lawyers who were being disciplined because of bad management practices. My program was also a management resource for all 30,000 lawyers in the state.

From that position, I was recruited to work for one of the lawyers for whom I had managed the firm, who now owns a marina management business. During the 6 years I was employed by this company, I became the business analyst who was sent into troubled marinas to create profitability and a better business environment. Needless to say, there were a variety of environmental, regulatory and construction issues in this business, in addition to a wide range of personnel issues.

This background is one that would serve Sonoma County extremely well in identifying why current problems exist and finding solutions that are innovative and oriented toward the long-term stability of our beautiful county.

Today, I have a business in project management, through which I provide services in accounting, human resources, software installation management and tenant improvements/construction with a focus on green-building. In addition, I serve on the Progressive Democrats of America National Task Force on Environment and Sustainability and am on the Board of Directors for Women for a Better World, which is in the process of creating a micro-lending program for women in Afghanistan.

I look forward to serving the people of Sonoma County and implementing progressive solutions for us all!
