Smart Voter Official Statement for Mike Kerns

Candidate for
County Supervisor; County of Sonoma; Supervisorial District 2

This is a copy of information submitted to elections officials by the candidate

Thank you for allowing me the privilege of serving you for over seven years. As a 25 year police officer and your County Supervisor, I've dedicated my life to public service.

I want to continue working hard on the issues that concern you and your family, like improving transportation, protecting agriculture and open space, increasing public safety, and promoting more affordable housing.

I'm working to continue widening Highway 101, improving our local streets and roads, and developing a passenger rail system.

As a director of the Agricultural Preservation and Open Space District, I've helped protect almost 70,000 acres of open space, including the expansion of Schollenberger Park. Under my leadership, we acquired the 1,769 acre Tolay Lake Ranch, which will become a much needed regional park.

I've worked to strengthen our local economy so that our county can continue to provide essential services such as public safety and health care.

As a father, it's important to me to protect the quality of life that we enjoy in Sonoma County. I'll continue to seek opportunities for affordable housing, responsibly manage growth, and protect our groundwater and water quality so that our environment stays healthy and sustainable for generations to come.

I respectfully ask for your vote. Thank you.
