Smart Voter Official Statement for Bill Cogbill

Candidate for
Sheriff-Coroner; County of Sonoma

This is a copy of information submitted to elections officials by the candidate

With your help and support I hope to continue in the challenging and rewarding job of Sonoma County Sheriff. During my first term this department and our community have accomplished so much. That said there is more to do. In my second term I will continue to focus on preventing crime by working with our schools, community groups and non-profit agencies to positively influence our youth through education, intervention and enforcement. We can have an impact on gang activity and violence by working together to provide positive direction while also holding those responsible accountable for criminal conduct.

Disaster preparedness is a central responsibility of government. I will continue to ensure that when faced with a natural disaster or large-scale criminal event we have an effective and well-coordinated response.

I have spent the past 30 years in law enforcement in our community experiencing a wide variety of assignments. During my career I have dedicated myself to earning your trust and confidence while improving public safety and our quality of life. With your support I will continue lead the dedicated men and women of this department as your Sheriff.

Thank you for your vote.
