Yolanda Knaak's Political Positions Part I

By Yolanda Knaak

Candidate for Member, Republican Party County Central Committee; County of Sacramento; Supervisorial District 4

This information is provided by the candidate
  • FAMILY: I support traditional family values. I support Proposition 22, that affirms marriage is between a man and a woman. Pro-Life and I endorse parental notification of abortion because side effects of abortion could be deadly.
  • TAXES: I oppose additional taxes and I believe that by cutting government waste we can balance California's budget.

  • MILITARY/VETERANS: I support our military men and women. Veterans should receive support for their service.

  • EDUCATION: I support education reform and I support parental involvement in their children's education. I oppose the surveys that are presently being done on our children in public schools. Survey is a type of research and an informed consent is not being obtained, which is illegal. I oppose the ultra liberal bills, SB 1437, AB 606 and AB 1056 being pushed through the legislature because they would endorse transgender, cross dressing and homosexuality in our public schools. They leave no room for parents to opt out of such teachings. I believe that if they pass that there will be a huge exodus of children from public schools. Three years ago when another contraversal bill passed, SB 71(approving homosexual surveys on public school children without parental consent for K-12) many parents removed their children from public schools and in my district several schools were closed.

  • TRANSPORTATION/ENVIRONMENT: I support better public transportation. For a clearner environment, I support tax credits for use of alternative fuel. I believe that we should develop better environmentally safe techniques in order to drill for oil on US soil.

  • CRIME/SAFETY: I support anti-crime legislation, and increasing the number of policemen on the street. I support responsible management of California borders to reduce the threat of terrorism. I believe that after closing the borders we should negotiate with the country of origin to transfer illegal immigrant criminals who are in our jails to their country's jail. Serious crimes like terrorism would need to be excluded.
