Smart Voter Political Philosophy for Bill L. Gable

Candidate for
Democratic Party Central Committee; County of Orange; State Assembly District 70

This information is provided by the candidate

CHANGE. Orange County is changing. The demographics of Orange County are changing, the dynamics of Orange County are changing, the philosophy and attitudes of Orange County are changing, and the Democratic party of Orange County needs to adapt to those changes to reflect not only today's reality but the reality of two or four or ten or twenty years into the future.

The Central Committee, both for the 70th Assembly District and for Orange County, has been represented by some fine and loyal Democrats over the past few years. Often, Democrats have been called on simply to be the "loyal opposition" with no real hope for being elected to countywide office. And many of the current Democratic leaders have fought the good fight.

But now, with all of the changes in Orange County, including our changing population, new leaders need to step up to guide Democrats to a new set of goals. The new goals include the real possibility of winning elections. No longer will it be acceptable to merely field a candidate and run a respectable race. Now, Democrats need Central Commmittee members who can recruit candidates with a real chance of winning and who will vigorously support policies that resonate with the new dynamic of Orange County.

I have complete respect for those who have served on the Central Committee, some of whom are running for re-election. However, it is time for different voices to be heard and some new members elected to take Orange County Democrats to the next level. While I have been a passionate Democrat for many years, I have not been part of any political machinery. And now, it is time to step up to the plate.

The Central Committee needs to be energized to take full advantage of the change happening in the county. I offer voters that new energy. Democrats can and will make a difference in Orange County and I want to be part of the team that will make that difference a reality.

CHANGE. Change is good. The Democratic Central Committee needs to take the lead in changing our county for the better. I ask for your vote as we change Orange County.
