Additional biography for Ron Wolf Ron Wolf has lived in the Hwy 68 corridor for 25 years. Besides the biographical highlights, he was very active in the NYC educational and political environment. For example, he arranged for Phoenix House (drug addiction) people to meet University faculty and students. Additionally, he was in charge of inviting outstanding speakers to the campus for a series of forums, including Paulo Freire, Dick Gregory, Shirley Chisholm, and Eugene McCarthy and also the representative of Irish Fenn Party in NYC. He spoke to Betty Friedan, Professor B.F. Skinner (Harvard)and Kurt Vonnegut as contacts for forums. He has also contacted numerous political figures including: Senator Ted Kennedy and Cesar Chavez. In the Vietnam era, he was in charge of a march (including the ban) of the Columbia University community such as Union Theological, Manhattan School of Music and Barnard of a march from the campus through Times Square to Washington Park in lower Manhattan. He also went to Washington DC to attend anti-Vietnam war protests. His disseratation at Columbia University was the influence of Cultural Anthropology upon American history that is reflected in the American Indian case. His academic background includes sub-cultural field work and studies of worker organizations. In the Central Committee he has handled, rallies, many fundraisers and registered numerous Democrats. As Treasurer, he became involved for Insurance for other Democratic Clubs and working to make the Monterey County Democratic fair booth a success. He has worked intensely on the campaigns of Howard Brunn, Bill Monning, and Fred Keeley. On Measure A, he gathered a good part of the petitions for the ballot and covered the County with fliers given out by his team(s). |
