The Board has increased Taxes in t he last 2 years to $211 or 52%. Increases to $303 are scheduled.For the last 10 years that I served on the Board we held taxes to $139 per household. These are large tax increases and I would move to slow down these increases by delaying certain non critical programs,one in particular is the Phase II solar program for while the program has merit it will take some 10 years to recover funds badly need now. If would be more cost effective to spend that money repairing our leaky collection system reducing infiltrat ion to some 5 million gpd or less,t hus saving pumping and treatment costs. Also I would urge on these type of project t hat we poll the paying public for their thoughts and ideas. This includes ideas from expert s in the field who my wish to volunteer some of their t ime to advising the Board. |
