I have adopted the mission statement for the City of Morro Bay which very aptly serves as a platform for my candidacy.

"The City of Morro Bay is dedicated to the preservation and enhancement of the quality of life. The City shall be committed to this purpose and will provide a level of municipal service and safety consistent with and responsive to the needs of the public."

The General Plan speaks to this purpose and embodies the policy or course of action that will move the City's mission forward. For the past 3 years consultants, City staff, the Planning Commission, and the City Council have combed their way through documents and cost studies, too numerous to list. Citizens have had the opportunity to provide input through many public forums. Will everyone find everything they want as an individual in this plan --- no! The investment of time and money in this vehicle has been substantial. Electing a Council that will move the Plan forward in my mind is critical. This election includes the Mayor and two vacant Council seats. The implementation of the Plan will further support my top three priorities when Morro Bay residents elect me to our City Council:

  • Provide the Fire & Police Departments human & material resources necessary to respond to the needs of the public in a manner that ensures our safety.

  • Work with local, County, & State agencies for a business friendly environment to benefit all from fishermen to the small shop owner.

  • Collaborate with fellow citizens to identify & adopt proven measures that meet housing mandates & the resulting infrastructure & fiscal demands.

Morro Bay is the common home for many different individuals. Together we must strive for solidarity and embrace the democratic process to keep this home in good repair now and into the future.
