The Good Work Must Continue!

By Tony M. Ferrara

Candidate for Mayor; City of Arroyo Grande

This information is provided by the candidate
"There is no higher religion than human service. To work for the common good is the highest creed" --Albert Schweitzer
We have undertaken a direction for Arroyo Grande. "Staying the course" is imperative if we are to continue to progress toward our goals. There is more work to do to ensure our "workforce" can find affordable housing in the City. We face the challenges of implementing the policies we have put in place for agricultural preservation. And we will have an opportunity to apply our Village Design Procedures and Guidelines in the coming months. Our General Plan must be adhered to as we grow "responsibly" and within our resource capability. The success of the past two years occurred because of the predominent philosophy of your elected City Council. The success of the future depends on maintaining this philosophy.

I want to personally thank our community of volunteers. The volunteer firefighters, police volunteers, Village Improvement Association, Historical Society, individual business owners who contributed to the "let there be light" program in the Village, coordinators and volunteers who worked so very hard on the Strawberry and Harvest Festivals, the boy scout troops, parks and recreation volunteers, team coaches, and parents involved in our youth athletic programs; and you, the citizens, who take the time to attend meetings, answer surveys, or watch your government in action on Cable TV. Your contribution of "human service" to the "common good," makes our City a very special place! Let's continue to work together for another two years.
