Rural v Urban

By Vivian D. Osborn

Candidate for Board Member; Ramona Community Planning Area

This information is provided by the candidate
Rural includes agriculture and animal husbandry. Urban uses sewer service, small lots and no farm animals
Rural: Preserving Ramona's historical rural character includes planning for rural growth. Future planning must include large lots for large animals that are used in farming, ranch life, pleasure hobby, 4-H & FFA projects. Through the agriculture programs at our Ramona schools and the organizations that support agriculture in Ramona, our unique location and historical backround can be preserved for the future health & welfare or our children.

Urban: The continued urbanization of our rural community will require sewer service for tightly constrained residential lots. The valley could be filled with houses and crowded roads as is every other urban community in San Diego.

Rural does not require urban services. Urban services of sewer & water are expensive for the community. I suggest that Ramona voters reject project that require urban service being extended into the outer edges of our rural country town.
