Involving all stakeholders in the education process

By Ben Hueso

Candidate for Board Member; San Diego Unified School District; District D

This information is provided by the candidate
Succeeding in achieving high student achievement requires collaboration, communication, and input.
I believe that we need to promote transparancy in the decision-making process. Parents, teachers, administrators and all members of the community need to believe that their input is encouraged, and necessary to achieving a successful educational program. All problems can be solved when the stakeholders work collaboratively to create solutions.
Recently, teachers, administrators, and support staff have not felt like partners in education. As critical members of the educational team, they need to be acknowledged, respected, and included in contributing toward solving the difficult dilemas facing our districts.
