Growth

By Phillip D. Stark

Candidate for City; City of Elk Grove; Council District 5

This information is provided by the candidate
Growth cannot be at the expense of our natural habitat and historical areas. We must, as a City, protect and preserve these irreplaceable treasures.
Responsible growth is growth that allows for expansion but not at the expense of our quality of life. If getting to and from your home is a miserable, time consuming event, then our growth has not been managed responsibly. I believe by looking at the whole picture, considering how growth will affect our current residents and anticipating how growth will affect future generations, we can develop a more reasonable and productive means to meet the demands of housing and economic development. Our current situation requires us to take a hard look at how future growth will proceed. As your Council Member I will work to ensure infrastructure is in place before any construction is allowed. I also believe that growth cannot be at the expense of our natural habitat and historical areas. We must, as a City, protect and preserve these irreplaceable treasures.
