Programs: Our area needs more youth programs. Some, such as the Regional Occupational Program (ROP), will train teenagers to maintain our parks while providing participants with real-life job skills. In addition ROP will help us maintain our parks in the face of budget cuts and revenue shortfalls.

Other activities such as open track meets, concerts in the park, and family-oriented festivals, can even generate needed park funding. Our community is rich in diversity, and our park system should be a place that celebrates that same diversity.

Profitable special programs are a better way to raise revenue than increasing park admittance and usage fees.

Safety: Improved communication and coordination between residents and local authorities could dramatically improve park safety. In addition properly maintaining and refurbishing older facilities will deter crime by instilling pride in each neighborhood.
