What are the major issues facing Irvine water district?

By Annie Yang-McNally

Candidate for Board Member; Irvine Ranch Water District

This information is provided by the candidate
1. Rapid expansion of our communities and the lost of open space.
2. El Toro groundwater cleanup project.
A lot of local residents I talked to are very concerned about the rapid expansion of our communities and the lost of open space which is part of attractions of Orange County. I propose smart and clean growth by putting strong emphases on water conservation, and implementing the three R's: Reduction, Reclamation, and Replenishment.

Another major issue within the district is the El Toro groundwater cleanup. This is a win-win project for the district and its consumers. The cleanup project should proceed with minimum inconvenience to Irvine residents and least disturbance to neighborhoods in Irvine.
