Member, City Council; City of Brea

Don is a third generation Brean who is now, along with his wife Janis, raising their two daughters here. He is a licensed architect with his own practice right here in Brea. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree with an emphasis in Environmental Design from San Diego State University and a Bachelor of Architecture from Montana State University.

Don has been an active, contributing member of Brea for years. For the past 6 years he has been on the Planning Commission. He has been a Lions Club International member for over 12 years holding almost every office on the Board of Directors including President. As a Brea Lions Club member he chaired the North/South All-Star Football Game and soon after became a Charter Member of the Brea Noon Lions Club winning the District Secretary of Year award in 1999. Don is a member and current officer of the Brea Historical Society and responsible for spearheading the creation of the recently dedicated Brea Museum and Heritage Center. He was on the Board of the Brea Lions Scout Center helping them create the only known Boy and Girl Scout Center in the nation. He is a driving force behind the Boys and Girls Club dream of creating a new recreational center in Brea donating his time and energy for its state of the art design. Don has been involved on many advisory committees and continues to come up with new and innovative programs such as Brea History Day he created for Mariposa third graders which is now in its fourth year.

Having grown up in Brea and being part of a family that first moved here in 1909, Don is very committed to serving. His grandfather was on the City Council for 21 years. His father served 12 years 2 of which as Mayor. Don saw first hand what a difference one dedicated person can achieve to better the community in which he lives. Don is determined to continue that spirit and build upon the foundation laid by his forefathers.
