Estimados Amigos:

Sinceramente,

MARGIE L. RICE

Mayor, City of Westminster

Dear Friends,

It has been my privilege and honor to serve as your Mayor. Westminster is proud of the cultural heritage that the Hispanic community brings to our city. You deserve our thanks for your participation in many important civic, social and cultural programs.

As your Mayor, I helped to balance the city budget without forcing you to pay higher taxes. The City Council and I worked hard to protect small business and to update old city codes that hurt business owners. We persuaded many different companies to move to Westminster. This has created jobs for our community and provided money tto support police, fire, recreation and other city services. Ifought to keep a Family Resource Center in Westminster for our citizens who need help.

Westminster's services for senior citizens are the best in Orange County with special transportation, affordable apartments, meals, and many free benefits. The City built the Sullivan Senior Center and helped to build Abrazar. We contribute funds for Abrazar's programs every year. I am especially proud of the new Intergenerational housing under construction on 13th Street that will put low-income families and senor citizens into beautiful low-cost apartments.

I worked with Coastline College to build a campus in civic center with many special programs especially for our multicultural community. Next to the college, the city is building a theater where youth groups such as Las Tapatias and Itzamna can perform, and with a large banquet hall that will seat 500 for weddings and parties.

During my next term as Mayor, I will continue to support local police, fire and paramedic services. I will fight to bring new jobs to Westminster and to keep taxes down. I need your vote in November to be re-elected as your Mayor. If you want to help me, please call me at (714) 893-1732 and let me know. I will be happy to talk with you and answer your questions or listen to your suggestions.

Sincerely,

MARGIE L. RICE

Mayor, City of Westminster
