About The Candidate

Born Nov. 22cnd 1955, Amityville, Long Island, I am the youngest of 3 children. I am a life-long lover of the natural world, and attribute this to having grown up in an inner-city environment (Brooklyn, N.Y.) -certainly no place for a boy!

Attended Suffolk County Community College, Seldon Campus, Seldon, Long Island, N.Y.

Military Service-

Served 2 years active duty and three years inactive reserve, United States Navy. 1 year 6 months Sea Duty aboard U.S.S. Hector (AR-7) as a Boatswains Mate.

I am an artist, a musician and an author. My works include lithographs, 2 CD's of original music (Rock/Blues) and my book entitled 'An Activist's Almanac' (unpublished).

Achievements-

Led wetland preservation movement that culminated in creation of Little Shell Wetland Preserve, Huntington Beach, Ca 2000*

Founding Member of Orange County Ocean Outfall Group, which stopped the Orange County Sewage Waiver (see http://www.stopthewaiver.com)*

Founder of 'Desal Is No Pal' movement, which stopped what would have been the Western Hemispheres largest Desalination Project*

Authored the California Democratic Party's 'Heritage Tree' State Resolution, accepted by the delegation at the 2003 State Convention in Sacramento, where I also served as a Region 18 delegate*

Goals for the future-

Stop the cutting of all remaining Old-Growth forests, stop all 'waivers' of the Clean Water Act, pursue my political, artistic and musical careers.
