By Katrina Foley

Candidate for Member, City Council; City of Costa Mesa

This information is provided by the candidate
This is my official candidate statement that appears in your sample ballot
NAME: KATRINA FOLEY AGE: 37 OCCUPATION: Costa Mesa Planning Commissioner/Businesswoman

Now, more than ever, Costa Mesa needs professional, experienced and balanced leadership to plan our future.

I have been a Planning Commissioner since 1999. My husband Casey is a local teacher who grew up in Costa Mesa. Our two boys, Sam and Ben, attend Costa Mesa schools. We are Mesa Del Mar homeowners who have a real interest in this city's future. I understand the issues facing our community. I volunteer as a director for Newport-Mesa School District and Coast Community College Oversight Committees, Girl Scouts Council of Orange County, and PTA. I am also working with Costa Mesa United to build an Aquatic Center and Athletic Stadium for our two high schools. As your Councilmember I will:

Support public safety to protect our families,

Insist upon safe and clean routes to schools,

Oppose schemes to sell the Fairgrounds to developers,

Support families by protecting funding for recreation and parks,

Stop further expansion of John Wayne Airport.

A business owner and managing law partner, I have experience in business planning and operations. I will work hand-in-hand with businesses, community members and our school and college districts to maximize our limited resources. I respectfully ask for your vote.
