An Open Letter to Irvine Voters:

By Steven S. "Steve" Choi

Candidate for Member, City Council; City of Irvine

The time has come for a new voice on the Irvine City Council.
Dear Friend:

The time has come for a new voice on the Irvine City Council.

For the past six years, I've served on the Irvine Unified School District Board of Education, guiding it through one of its most tumultuous periods as a result of California's budget deficit.

Today, the City of Irvine is faced with similar challenges. Our city is in the midst of an era of unprecedented growth. In addition to overseeing the development of the Orange County Great Park, we must begin to resolve many important local issues + such as increased traffic congestion, population density, and crime.

I believe my experience in working with large-scale public planning and my keen interest in promoting a performance-based, streamlined budget will be of great benefit to the citizens of Irvine.

My vision for Irvine includes:

  • Ensuring the highest quality of life for all our citizens
  • Assuring the best possible education for our children
  • Fostering the development of the Orange County Great Park
  • Building a City Main Library System
  • Implementing a true two-term limits for Mayor and Councilmembers
  • Restoring openness, honesty and ethics to local government

Together, we can make this vision for Irvine a reality!

You may count on me. May I count on you?

It would be an honor to serve as your Councilman, and I'd greatly appreciate your vote.

God Bless You.

Sincerely,

Steven Choi, Ph.D.
