Candidate for
Member, City Council; City of Costa Mesa

HER COMMITMENT:

PROTECT THE NEIGHBORHOODS OF COSTA MESA

City Council must actively participate in all matters relating to the expansion of John Wayne Airport to prevent Irvine and Newport Beach from routing flights over the East Side

No extension of the Orange Freeway to Costa Mesa or to 405 Freeway. It is difficult to foresee how Costa Mesa can accrue and benefit from this project.

No to OCTA plan for Newport Boulevard widening; underground it to PCH. It does not address the problem. Traffic to the coast congests our city and inhibits downtown shopping. Beach travel should be routed underground from the 55 Freeway to the Coast Highway. No Santa Ana River crossings. Access problems of other cities should not burden the citizens of Costa Mesa.

Work with the police to eliminate gang activities and ensure safe neighborhoods, Support education to help children to become responsible citizens. Work with schools to provide a safe environment. "Preserve, protect and enhance our quality of life."

Maintain our fields and provide new fields for our youth sports.

Affordable housing for our seniors must be a priority.

PROTECT THE FINANCIAL STRENGTH OF OUR CITY

No Eminent Domain to benefit developers. No redevelopment agency giveaways or city donations to major developers, let the developer pay fair market value. Invite investors through favorable zoning

Keep the Orange County Fair in Costa Mesa; zone the land for no other use.

MAINTAIN A BUSINESS FRIENDLY ATMOSPHERE

Planning department should assist business with complete, consistent and correct information; prompt, efficient services; supporting rather than obstructing

"ACCOUNTABILITY IS PART OF EVERY PROCESS"
