Support for the Fullerton Police Department.

By Ralph G. Baker

Candidate for Member, City Council; City of Fullerton

This information is provided by the candidate
My new politics will have filling vacancies on the police and fire departments as its number one priority.
In the six years that I have attended the meetings of the Fullerton City Council twice I have seen the police department have unfilled vacancies. I am convinced that I will see this problem again in the next eight years. The first time there was two unfilled vacancies, we were lucky and got help from the state and federal governments. The second time we had five unfilled vacancies and got no help. From now on I want our city government prepared to deal with this problem and not depend on help from other levels of government. I want a new city council with a new politics that can solve our problems and let us go on to the next order of business. I want to re-write the redevelopment contract so that we can use the money as a reserve to fill vacancies in the police and fire department. If we can buy the city council time, then we can find ways to fill those vacancies without adding to the burden of the homeowners, taxpayers, and consumers of Fullerton.
