Candidate, Trustee, Washington Union High SchoolI am Dr. David Austin and it is with pleasure and a sense of pride that I ask for your vote as a Trustee of the Washington Union High School District. I am a University Instructor who was raised by my Grandparents, Lee and Luisa Orosco on a small farm at the corner of West and American Avenue. All of my Aunts and Uncles Graduated from American Union Elementary and Washington Union High School. I believe that all students can learn and that students should master high academic standards for graduation. I also believe in providing and expanding courses that promote an appreciation for the land that feed our families and clothe our children. Program consideration and expansion should include Future Farmers of America, and programs designed in partnership with Fresno State University and the University of California that promote engineering, technology & science and address current research practices within careers in agriculture, breeds of live stock, animal husbandry, and farming. As a Trustee I would also like our students exposed to programs that reinforce the Sciences and Mathematics which lead to professions and support personnel in the Health & Human Service field such as Dentistry, Chiropractic, Physician, and Veterinarian. |
