  • 3. Fiscal stewardship planning- I support the smarter use of financial resources, focusing on prioritized needs, strategic planning for growth, etc.

  • Third generation farmer and resident of the greater Fresno area. Gena's family has been an active part of the community for over 100+ years.
  • Graduate of the local Fresno Central High School, and has earned degrees in agriculture at Cal Poly University (BS) and Arizona State University (MS)
  • Worked for a Fortune 500 food company, and launched both a farming company and trading company.
  • Established Marian Farms in 1990 that produces the highest quality of Demeter Certified farm products in the United States.
  • Serves as Secretary of the Executive Board of the Raisin Administrative Committee.
  • Serves as President of the Josephine Porter Institute that educates farmers and consumers on biodynamic farming methods and food products.
Priorities:
  • Build bridges to address distribution and conservation of both farmers and urban residences.
  • To expand and develop a economic and environmental policy that encompasses sustainable management practices for providing water to the district.
  • Strategic and long-term planning must continue in the area of water allocation, waste water management, and fresh water distribution.
