My work in office would be guided at all times by two main principles:

  • Put Marin residents before outside pressure and special interests -- ensure that each decision creates a lasting net benefit to quality of life for the majority of Marin's existing residents

  • Ensure lasting solutions -- ensure that solutions chosen are reliable, healthful, cost-effective, environmentally-friendly

I have outlined several general goals in support of those principles:

  • Bring Marin into the future while preserving its unique characteristics

  • Relieve traffic congestion and ensure effective, affordable public transit

  • Protect the unique small-town and rural characters of Marin's communities

  • Support local businesses to ensure local economic vitality

  • Avoid suburban sprawl and urban expansion

  • Protect, preserve and restore Marin's environmental beauty and valuable natural habitat

  • Institute sustainability as a key criteria in decision-making

  • Ensure meaningful opportunities for public input

  • Ensure clear lines of accountability in government

Open Government * Clean Environment * Lasting Solutions _____________________________________________ Committee to Elect Louis Nuyens, ID #992176 PO Box 822, Forest Knolls, CA 94933 info@lou4supe.com
