Judge Michael Dufficy's Ballot Statement

By Michael B. Dufficy

Candidate for Judge, Superior Court; County of Marin; Office 3

This information is provided by the candidate
Ballot Statement as it will appear in the Voters Information Pamphlet
In my almost 14 years as a judge, I have handled hundreds of criminal, probate, civil, family, and juvenile cases. I am stern with violent and repeat offenders and uphold the rights of victims.

Those who best know my judicial record are overwhelmingly supporting me. I have been endorsed by the Marin County Sheriff, every active and retired Marin County Superior Court Judge, the President and 34 Past-Presidents of the Marin County Bar Association, Court of Appeal Justices, the Mayor of San Rafael, and numerous community leaders.

Elected twice by my colleagues as Presiding Judge, I established the Juvenile Drug Court, emphasizing treatment rather than punishment for youthful offenders, spearheaded the consolidation of the Superior and Municipal Courts, and instituted innovative programs that increased the court's efficiency at no additional taxpayer expense.

Born and raised in Marin, a member of a pioneer family, I graduated from Stanford University and Hastings College of the Law. I served as a Marin County Deputy District Attorney before working 23 years in my own law practice. Married for 45 years with three children, I have deep roots in our community.

With your vote I will continue to serve Marin County as a fair, impartial and progressive judge.
