Smart Voter Political Philosophy for Jerry L. Duncan

Candidate for
Council Member; City of Fresno; Council District 6

This information is provided by the candidate

I've never been afraid to take an issue head on and it's a good thing. Change in government is never easy and we need change. Bureaucracies get used to doing things a certain way and resist change very intensely. Certainly the City of Fresno is no different. During my first term I have never hesitated to stand up for the taxpayers of District Six to push for common sense change and reform.

Changes which seem normal and routine in the private sector become major issues in government. At times it has resulted in some controversy as those who like the status quo will go to great lengths (ridiculous lengths sometimes) to keep things the way they are. But I have never forgotten that it is you that I represent and have continued to fight for change in the areas of our City Government where it is needed. Fresno City Government is changing for the better and I am proud to say I have played a significant role in this transformation.

As a person who is not a lifetime government employee, I don't know any other way.
