By Nita M. Winter

Candidate for Director; Marin City Community Services District; Unexpired Short Term

This information is provided by the candidate
The following text highlights my experience, committment and skills I bring to the MCCSD board.
I have operated a successful photography business for over 20 years. This includes creating and directing large community art projects for a number of North Bay communities. My projects, including "The Faces of Marin City," "The Faces of Novato" and "The Faces of the Canal," have focused on appreciating the diversity found in Marin County and the need for more affordable housing. Since 1999. I have helped raise, and manage $150,000 to produce, exhibit and promote widely these projects. I have done all this while simultaneously managing my freelance photography business that includes many non-profit and corporate clients throughout the country.

As a Marin City citizen and homeowner, I am one of only a handful of residents who regularly attend and contribute to the monthly Marin City Community Services District (CSD) meetings. This clearly demonstrates my commitment to both the positive growth of the CSD and to our richly diverse community. My consistent participation has given me an understanding of board members' responsibilities, the issues and community needs that they address, and how these both have evolved.

"Nita has demonstrated that she is dedicated to this community. She is very intelligent, honest, committed, and a diligent, hard worker. I have a lot of respect for her!" Julian Klugman, former MCCSD Board member
