Our community is recognized for its small-town character with diverse neighborhoods and people. It is the natural beauty, heritage, and sense of community we all enjoy. The charm and identity of Larkspur IS our neighborhoods and they must be preserved.

The City Council will be making critical decisions about the future of Larkspur. The General Plan's guiding principles are the keys to preserving our neighborhoods. Developments should be of a reasonable size, both for market rate and affordable homes. However, projects should not negatively impact us by increasing traffic congestion or by compromising our public safety.

Larkspur has significant infrastructure needs as well as the budgetary challenges that confront all municipalities. Efficient use of our resources and encouraging collaborative ventures between public, private, and non-profit entities will help to achieve higher economies of scale.

In some distant future, I don't want my children to come home for a visit and saying "I remember this used to be a charming town". I will work hard to keep that from becoming a reality. Together, we can make a positive difference in Larkspur by protecting our neighborhoods and enhancing our economy without hurting either one.
