By Christopher Alan Sproul

Candidate for Recall of Gray Davis; State of California

This information is provided by the candidate
The Recall should be defeated. California should, however, change past policy direction in favor of new, sustainable future policies.
1. Vote No on the Recall!

Passing the Recall would establish a bad precedent that policy differences and partisan advantage can be the proper basis for recalling a Governor. Recalling a Governor should be limited to criminal malfeasance or incapacity to serve.

2. The State of California's Policies Must Change, To Embrace a Sustainable Future.

California Is Moving in the Wrong Direction, facing:

--Crisis water shortages on the horizon (Think rolling blackouts were bad, how about days with no water?).

--Declining air quality.

--Vanishing open space.

--Increasing traffic congestion.

California Must Embrace "Smart Growth" and Sustainable Use of Our Resources, involving:

--Halting suburban sprawl and protecting greenbelts.

--Revitalizing urban cores.

--Providing incentive for solar power (passive solar design and rooftop solar photovoltaics), water conservation, and resource conserving design and development.

--Expanding water reclamation and recycling.

--Mass transit, transportation enhancing urban development design.
