I was born in 1949 in San Francisco. At an early age I caught the political bug and volunteered in a presidential campaign. By age 15 I was the captain of several precincts in San Francisco. Then I founded a political organization that spread to high schools throughout the Bay Area. I majored in Government at college, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of San Francisco in 1970.

Then I turned to the teaching profession. During my nine year career as a school teacher, I also earned a Master's Degree in Secondary Education from San Francisco State University. I also studied crime, which was a problem of particular interest. I co-founded Citizens Against Crime, Inc., a non-profit, and campaigned statewide for a reduction in crime.
While still a school teacher, I began attending a singles club that met at the local church. Within a year I was elected Chairman of the club. I then founded American Singles Education, Inc., the world's largest non-profit singles organization, and still serve as its Chairman. I have taught classes for single adults at 61 colleges throughout California and Nevada. I am the only man who travels worldwide educating singles. I am the author of eight books for romantic eligibles, including "Singles Guide to America," "You CAN Hurry Love," and "A Good Man Is EASY to Find" ("This is a great book! - Oprah Winfrey).
For over 20 years I was the proverbial "mechanic whose car doesn't run." I was teaching tens of thousands of romantic eligibles how to find love, but was still single. Until the lucky day in 1998 that I met my wife-to-be Debby, at one of my singles conventions. We have been happy every since.
But marriage hasn't diminished my concern for the needs of single people. I still teach classes for singles. I also publish "Possibilities," California's only singles magazine. And I conduct over 100 singles conventions, parties, and events for singles each year (please visit my website, http://www.ThePartyHotline.com). One of my main reasons for running for Governor is that someone has to stand up for the 42% of the population that is single and neglected by all the politicans!
