I will advocate for equitable salaries and benefits for district staff within a framework of fiscal responsibility.

All parents will be encouraged to participate in the education of their children and community. Board meetings should be translated into Spanish for those hard working parents who have not yet mastered the English language. Concern for a good education transcends languages and dialog will only improve parental involvement and our students' education.

State testing should reflect knowledge and not be the subject of instruction. We must test how to improve our students' knowledge and in turn academic instruction, not test taking skills.

Enough schools should be constructed to give the Oxnard School District the option of returning to a traditional school year.

Academic materials, libraries and technology must reflect the highest of standards in academic instruction.
