Biography and Information

David Kawas is the Republican nominee for California's 19th Assembly District. Born and raised in San Mateo County, David is a first generation American who cherishes the freedom and opportunity of the United States. David has been happily married to his wife Mary Ann since 1991. David and Mary Ann have two girls ages 8 and 10 and are expecting another child in August.

A resident of San Mateo's working-class Shoreview District, David supports his family as an account manager for an advertising firm. David is tired of hearing empty promises from professional politicians who don't really care about the hard-working people they are supposed to represent. He is a regular citizen who believes Sacramento could use a little old-fashioned common sense.

A man of the people, David's issue-based campaign has focused on returning local control to school districts, reducing the overall tax burden and redirecting tax money to important infrastructure projects that benefit ALL Californians. To this end, David has championed the concept of "dedicated taxation" laws that would return property taxes to local governments and school districts and transportation related taxes to transportation projects. Presently, most tax dollars are dumped into the "general fund" where the money is squandered away on anything and everything under the California sun, including 43 billion dollars of over-priced energy to temporarily avoid rolling black-outs during an election year.

David's concerns are those of every other hard-working taxpayer. If elected he would be a true "citizen legislator" # a man of the people who fights for the people! David will fight for better schools, better roads and lower taxes for a more prosperous California.

If you want a voice in the State Assembly, someone who will truly have your best interest at heart, then vote KAWAS for State Assembly.
