Excellence in education is not a buzzword for me. It is what we must offer today's students if they are to succeed in the adult world.

When elected, I will work to:

*Ensure that our students are able to pass the newly instituted exit exam.

*Implement programs that will create partnerships between our area's colleges and universities to provide cost-free services for students bound for college or the workforce.

*Encourage better communication between teachers, parents and students.

*Support teachers in enhancing classroom activities and performance.

*Use proven budget strategies to make every penny of your tax dollar count in the classroom.

I will provide the Board with a new perspective. As a young, professional, single minority woman, I understand the challenges students face in today's highly technical, competitive environment. With my participation in community educational groups, I have worked hard to be a good role model to students by showing them it is never too early to give back to your community through leadership and public service.

With your vote, I will work to ensure Jefferson Union High School District's students are prepared for successful, productive futures.
