MYRTIE C. FITZPATRICK

Occupation: Retired Educator/Consultant

Education and Qualifications:

I have lived in the Belle Haven, community for 44 years. During which time, I served in the Ravenswood City School District, as a teacher, principal, early retiree, teacher certification consultant, evaluation /teacher trainer, project director for two special programs, until retirement in June 2002.

My educational experiences include: a B.A. from Texas, M.S., California State, Hayward, and a Ph.D., University of Santa Barbara, with three life credentials in curriculum/educational administration, and one renewable K-12 administrative service.

My overall goal and focus is to serve the children and parents of the Ravenswood City School District, with respect, honesty, integrity, and accountability. My commitment includes:

1. Equal educational access and academic success for all children; 2. Development of a safe, nurturing and positive environment for each child; 3. Sensitivity and responsiveness to parent/community concerns and participation; 4. Accountability for all Board Members and staff; 5. Fiscal accountability whereby children are the first priority; 6. Evaluation of staff and programs to determine the impact on student achievement; 7. Respect and support for staff to enhance effective performance.

Together, with my experience, knowledge, integrity and commitment, we'll make a difference for our children.
