Hire experienced Airport Manager

By Stuart T. Ross

Candidate for Councilmember; City of Paso Robles

This information is provided by the candidate
action would be intended to promote the further developement potential of the airport
I feel strongly that the developement potential of the Paso Robles Municipal Airport has not been actively pursued, and in order for that to occur, there is a need to hire a Airport Manager with experience in airport management and industrial developement. The City of Paso Robles acquired the Municipal Airport from the County of San Luis Obispo in 1973, and since that time has only had one Airport Manager with Department Head status. At the present time the Director of Public Works has the responsiblity for the management of developement of the airport. I'm of the opinion that he simply doesn't have the time to give the airport his full attention as it relates to industrial developement and overall management. There is a real need for employment opportunities in the City of Paso Robles, and I believe that the airport could be the catalyst for that endeavor.
