Ballot Information

By Britt Phillips

Candidate for Commissioner; Port San Luis Harbor District

This information is provided by the candidate
I am asking for your vote to send me back to the Port San Luis Harbor Commission. A major principle that I believe in is that your property taxes should be spent only on the part of the Port that is available to the general public.I have been doing my best to protect your property tax money from being spent to subsidize the operations and leases and licenses at the Port. It is a up-hill battle I have taken on. I have been a commercial fisherman, merchant mariner, Viet Vet and am an ardent sportfisherman, and own and operate a auto repair shop and a fly shop in Arroyo Grande, I am the only employee. My goals: Rebuilding of the Hartford Pier, it needs help, especially the walk/roadway out to the end. To establish a profitable enterprise on Harbor Terrace. And to get the businesses off of the taxpayers backs, this is a very unpopular idea at the Port, as you might imagine. I want every business that makes a living at the Port to be as prosperous as it can be, but not on the backs of the property tax payers. Thanks for your consideration and past support. Robert "Britt" Phillips
