Smart Voter Full Biography for Hal Halldin

Candidate for
Councilmember; City of Pismo Beach

This information is provided by the candidate

Hal Halldin, Retired Civil Engineer

My wife Virginia and I built our Pismo Beach home in 1985. We both care very much about Pismo Beach. We were married 55 years ago, have three children and 7 grandchildren. My most recent experience from 1990 until now has been as a consultant for more than 10 cities and counties in California. My experience has been in the financing, design and or construction of water and sewer facilities, fire and police stations, parks, piers, storm drains, beach facilities, streets and bridges.

I have been the President of the Los Angeles chapter of the American Society of Civil Engineers Junior Forum, Vice President of the Southern California Chapter of the American Public Works Association and a board member of a chamber of commerce, mortgage, escrow, and insurance companies , and a large property management company. My experience in this area began in 1944 when I was stationed at the P-38 base in Santa Maria before landing in Okinawa. In 1953 I helped design the Shell Beach and Cayucos sewer systems. I believe my education and experience in helping to solve problems throughout the state can be extremely valuable to the citizens of Pismo Beach.
