Candidate for Councilmember; City of Arroyo Grande

A personal message from Nan
For half a century my family has lived and worked in Arroyo Grande. My roots run deep. I raised my daughter here and enjoyed a fulfilling nursing career. Now I own and operate my own small business and volunteer for as many public service activities as I possibly can.

In seeking to serve you further as your city councilmember, I bring unique qualities and perspective to the job. The empathy gained from a career in nursing, the nurturing learned as a mother, the accountability that comes from operating a small business and my experience as a planning commissioner will be a vital addition to the council.

The city council must make a variety of important decisions. Councilmembers need to have experience with and exposure to a wide range of community issues. It may be easier to motivate some voters with emotional, single-issue campaigns but that is unfair to our community.

Please pay close attention to every issue and carefully examine the experience and views of all those who are asking for your votes. I'm confident that you will agree that a representative with my qualifications - nurse, mother, business owner, planning commissioner - will be a worthy addition to our Arroyo Grande City Council.
