Shall the office of the City Treasurer be appointive?

Impartial Analysis from the City Attorney
If approved, the office of City Treasurer would be filled by a person appointed by the members of the City Council. At present, any resident of the City may seek election to the office of City Treasurer for a four-year term. Among other duties, the City Treasurer is responsible for the safe deposit of all moneys in the custody of the city, providing periodic statements of investment policy and preparing certain reports required by law.
