  • Approved Pacific View, a charter school
  • Established an Opportunuity School, Community Day School and the Oceanside School of Business & Technology

Support Safe Schools
  • Adopted a district policy against violence and intimidation
  • Supports drug testing for student athletics
  • Approved canine drug detection at middle and high schools.

Parent and Community Advocate
  • Serves on the Board of Directors for the Oceanside Boys & Girls Club
  • Member of Partners for Healthy Neighborhoods, North County Latinas Association, & CSU San Marcos President's Hispanic Advisory Council
