Traffic Congestion and Speeding

By Carol Lynn (Honeck) Kuske

Candidate for Council Member; City of Santee

This information is provided by the candidate
Traffic Congestion has been a longtime problem of Santee. Proposing study of the Protected-Permissive Left Turn System Program as it would apply to our city.
The Protected-Permissive Left Turn System Program would allow vehicles to make a left turn after the green arrow has changed, yielding to on-coming traffic. Chula Vista, San Diego, and San Marcos are currently using this system.

And evaluation needs to be done with certain criteria considered. Such as the number of vehicles per hour on an average day, peak hours and the volume turning left, U-turn volume, and the posted mph on a given road to name a few.
