As a School Board member my goals would include:
- striving for efficient and effective management of the
District and the growth it is experiencing, including
wise planning of when and where to build new schools
- seeking ways to get schools built more quickly and
inexpensively, including the possibility of developers
building schools.
- trying to ensure that Prop. BB does what it is supposed
to do
- seeking audits of Prop. BB and Mello-Roos taxes paid and
regular reporting and accountability of each
- improving communication and coordination with the cities
the District serves
- getting rid of the politics and making decisions that are
best for students, teachers, and the community
- improving test scores
- creating an environment where teachers feel no threat in
speaking out, including establishing "whistleblower"
protections
- determining why Southwest and Sweetwater High Schools
didn't meet Federal standards and ways to improve them.
- providing vocational options for students not interested
or headed for college and tying their academic classes to
vocational application
- being strong, accountable, responsive, and accessible
