Candidate for
Mayor; City of La Mesa

Dave looks forward to continuing service to the citizens of La Mesa as Mayor ? connecting residents and business owners to their elected officials; working with other jurisdictions in the County to develop regional solutions to challenges facing our communities; listening to the City professionals and analyzing alternatives to develop solutions that make sense in setting a course of action for the future.

Dave has served as Vice Mayor and Councilmember of the La Mesa City Council; and President of the San Miguel Firefighters; attended League of Cities Conferences; has worked with local, state and federal elected officials to solve local problems; served as Director of Legislative Affairs for the San Miguel Firefighters; and is a Director for the California State Firefighters Association. Dave also is a Board Member of the East County YMCA, and member of La Mesa Rotary. While his children were growing up, he coached Little League teams and served on the Little League Board for 9 years.

Dave Allan has dedicated his career to the Fire Service. For 17 years he worked for the San Miguel Fire District; previous to that, he was with the US Federal Fire Service, and served in the US Army, 8th Division, 101st Airborne, for 6 years.

Dave is married, has 4 children, has lived in San Diego for 17 years, and attends College Avenue Baptist Church.
