W e need experienced, trusted leaders to guide the new city of Rancho Cordova - to ensure the highest level public safety, protect taxpayers and feepayers, demand accountability from government and improve our city.

I was educated and trained as a scientist; however I come from a family with generations of community service and strong family values.

I've put those values to work, first on Capitol Hill for Congressman John Porter, working on health care, education, and social security reform nearly a decade ago; and more recently as a grassroots activist and community leader working to improve the quality of life of everyone in Rancho Cordova.

I have served Rancho Cordova as a member of the Sheriff's Community Advisory Committee, Fourth of July Committee Chair, Cordova Community Planning Advisory Council (CORPAC) Chair, Rancho Cordova Community Council Board member, Mather Airport Master Plan Committee member, as a Board member of the Rancho Cordova Chamber of Commerce and as a co-chair of Rancho Cordova Kids First # the successful 2002 Bond Measure that raised $49 million for Cordova schools.

I am proud to be the "2002 Volunteer of the Year" for both the Rancho Cordova Chamber and the Cordova Community Council, and the Grapevine's "Angel of the Month."

As a City Councilman, my goals are:
1. Protect taxpayers and residents by holding city officials accountable.
2. Make public safety our top priority.
3. Clean up streets and neighborhoods and launch a city beautification program to improve the image of Rancho Cordova and protect property values.
4. Safeguard our water supply by demanding high water quality standards.
5. Ensure high-quality, single family housing is available for our families.

I am honored to have the support of my wife Maggie - along with Congressman Doug Ose, Senator Rico Oller, Assemblyman Anthony Pescetti, Sheriff Lou Blanas, former Sheriff and City Councilman Robbie Waters, Park Director Guy Anderson, School Board Member Roger Benton, the Rancho Cordova Chamber of Commerce, Sacramento Metro Chamber of Commerce, and the Sacramento County Deputy Sheriffs Association.

If you have any questions, or want to help my campaign for City Council, please call me at 362-8433 or email me at Vote@DavidSander.com.
