  • Occupation: Education Policy Consultant
  • EDUCATION: Has advised state and local officials on education issues for nearly a decade.
  • OVERCROWDING: Serves on the district's Facilities Strategic Planning Committee developing solutions to district overcrowding.
  • TRUANCY: Worked with representatives from the state's 10 largest police departments on the problem of student truancy.
  • DIVERSITY & TOLERANCE: A Sacramento Human Rights/Fair Housing Commissioner, he is also a co-founder and Board Member of the Capital Unity Council.
  • WORKFORCE TRAINING: Served on the State Job Training Coordinating Council (the state's top workforce advisory board).
  • PUBLIC SAFETY: Spent 3 years as a member of the Sacramento Police Department's community advisory committee.

  • REDUCING OVERCROWDED CLASSROOMS AND SCHOOLS: Marc played a key role in developing the district's 5 year plan to ease overcrowding in our schools.

  • DEVELOPING PARTNERSHIPS WITH OUR COMMUNITY: Marc will develop strategic partnerships with business, labor and the non-profit sector.
