  • Thirteen years as an administrator, including Dean, Director of Student Activities, Vice Principal, and Principal
  • School awarded "outstanding school of the year" by the Masonic Lodge in 1999 and 2002.

  • To refocus the efforts of the board on the needs of children.
  • To attract and retain quality employees.
  • To work with the State Department of Education to secure more discretionary spending of state funds by school districts.
Sara A. Myers 11,403 votes 18.1%
  • Occupation: Incumbent
  • Retired, civil service. 20 years experience as an educator. Served as a classroom teacher, department chair, teaching team leader, and
  • in curriculum development. Three master's degrees, including one in Educational Administration. As a consultant in staff development received
  • national recognition for innovative training programs.
  • Coordinated student teaching programs for two universities. College counselor, adjunct faculty member and administrator of graduate programs.
  • Served 8 years on the Folsom City Council. Elected as delegate to Calif School Board Association(CSBA) Assembly, Region 6.
  • UC Berkeley Alumni Assoc. of Sacramento Scholarship Chair for 8 years. Earned Masters in Governance from CSBA, a 2-yr. program.
Priorities:
  • Continue providing quality instructional programs. All schools scored above the statewide average and 10 were in the high performance range.
  • We need to close the gap with some subgroups by providing more effective reading and math programs. Create a climate of high expectations.
  • Ensure that bond funds are spent as promised, construction is on schedule and within budget.
