Candidate for Member, City Council; City of Santa Monica

This information is provided by the candidate
I am a great leader because of how I stand, move, and deliver. When elected I will be in a position to end homelessness within five years.
Homeless needs are not being met is because of the open door policy and because of the actions of a few City Council members that don't want to end homelessness. The City needs to "triage" those asking for services based on length of time in the city. Santa Monica should not take away other Cities money and use it to subsidize our programs and import their homeless to here. All services should be linked to goals or results. Those failing to meet the stated goals of a program or services should be dropped. A 50% cut in homeless on the streets over 5 years is realistic and this goal can be achieved by coordinating strategies, services enforcement, and controlling free handouts. Services should be focused on women the mentally ill, elderly and who suffer the most on the streets. Service providers should work closely with the SMPD HLP team. Communication between providers, and the PD is vital in order to locate, outreach and serve those in real need. Stop criminal & antisocial behavior. Expand SMPD HLP/Vice to deal with liquor stores, bars that flagrantly supply inebriates with alcohol and put them out of business. No more traffic calming! Zoning must be prioritized by 1) residents and 2) businesses. But, we must remember Santa Monica has a huge Retail base. Therefore it is important to keep things "aesthetic," yet easy to negotiate. All things considered, desirable logically...underground parking must be our next step. The benefits are definitely , having one way streets, opening another lane, improving traffic flow and capacity and so on. In regards to Pedestrian traffic, keeping in mind our Elderly, Disabled Residents as well as visitors unfamiliar with the City; Pro-Walk lights must be established to allow longer signal timing and separate safe flow for pedestrians and vehicles. At no time will pedestrians and vehicles have to be in conflict with each other. We need to increase available parking by creating underground parking, and diagonal parking. In regards to Emergency vehicle access we need to rethink the placement of Speed Bumps. The welfare of our animal residents is always important! Our City needs to move funds and resources towards programs such as aggressive birth control education & the highly successful Mobile Spay and Neuter Clinics. We must then support professional pet adoption centers as well as offer education and support to the small, independent Guardians of animals awaiting adoption. With the efforts of organizations like Lost Angels, an animal advocate network offering support and services to the independent animal care giver or Guardian...we will preserve the right of every animal to be afforded a chance to be a part of our community, enriching us as we care for them. With the help of Lost Angels Santa Monica will become a No-Kill City with strong birth control, education, rescue and adoption programs in place. Toxic Mold has been found in our homes, schools, and businesses and is as serious a problem in this century as asbestos was in the last century! Toxic Mold itself is a threat to everyone, because it can cause sickness to children or seniors and can cause severe health problems to those with allergies to mold and that according to University Studies, about 10 percent of the population is severely allergic to mold. I feel it should be a serious matter of concern to both our Community and all prospective candidates. We need to create a "Toxic Mold Action Team," comprised of medial, science and haze-mat teams to perform an educational outreach program to help victims with their health and assist with the diagnosis of the problem and clean-up.

Infusion of $53,000,000 for education by the Non Profit Rand Corporation is the best hope to save the education of Our Kids. Everyone that has seen me in action knows without any doubt that I am the only Politically Incorrect candidate for City Council that has the courage to diplomatically encourage Rand Corporation to return our $53,000,000 so that Our Kids can have the education that they deserve and our underpaid teachers can receive a fair wage for their much appreciate and much valued profession. Our youth must be empowered to represent themselves through a venue of an elected Junior City Council. Our Community and our youths needs will best be served only when we empower our youth to be part of the same election process that now exist with the current City Council. 18 year through 24 will be elected to serve on this advisory body to be known as a Junior City Council. Youths 14 years through 17 years olds will be appointed by the elected Junior City Council to as Liaisons to all City Bodies.

Property rights of private homeowners to rebuild or modify their own homes must not be infringed upon by a few Council members. The "Visitability Ordinance" is offensive to both homeowners and to the disabled. Homeownership opportunities for very low income to moderate income tenants must be extended to all tenants living at the 1,500 units that COMMUNITY CORPORATION MANAGES. No more affordable housing developments or spending unless 100% of the affordable housing goes to current or former Santa Monica residents. AFFORDABLE HOUSING must be triaged to Santa Monica residents that are in the process of losing their homes and prioritized by greatest need. Former Santa Monica residents must be provided with affordable housing under a Right of Return. The City Council ongoing failures to protect Santa Monica residents from losing their Santa Monica residence while being replaced by residents from around the world is justification for the City Council to resign from office. The City Council therefore is responsible for causing massive replacement of our residents that in effect has a major impact on the quality of life and culture of Santa Monica.

The budget priority is to triple the funds given to our Schools so that the quality of education for our kids and the wages of our teachers best meets the needs of both our kids and their teachers. Our teachers need an immediate $6.00 per hour increase with merit rewards for score improvement of our kids. Class sizes need to be reduced to 15 kids per teacher. Infusion of $53,000,000 for education by the Non Profit Rand Corporation is the best hope to save the education of Our Kids. Doubling the personnel of the SMPD Traffic, gang, HLP and Vice teams is long overdue and would have a major impact and benefit on the Public Safety and quality of life for all residents and businesses. Funding for pedestrian traffic, Pro-Walk lights must be established to allow longer signal timing and separate safe flow for pedestrians and vehicles. At no time will pedestrians and vehicles have to be in conflict with each other. We need to increase available parking by creating underground parking, and diagonal parking. In regards to Emergency vehicle access we need to rethink the placement of Speed Bumps. All Parking structures that need to be remodified should be demolished and replace with parks containing underground Parking/valet/ delivery truck area that can also be used when needed as a Red Cross/SMFD Emergency Services Shelter. The quality of everyone will be enhanced by getting the cars/delivery trucks/ Valets off the crowed streets with more parks created for our human and animal residents. Housing would be on the bottom because it currently does not go to Santa Monica residents because of the current City Council.
