This information is provided by the candidate

I am a budget analyst and grant writer for nonprofit organizations, and the parent of two children who attend public school, play AYSO soccer, and spend lots of time at the beach. As a volunteer, I am treasurer of the Coalition for Clean Air and the Santa Monica Pier Commission. During 2001 I raised $6.3 million for tutoring, recreation, violence prevention, and other programs.

I have lived in Santa Monica for 18 years, and I am very committed to protecting our environment and advocating for families. I want to be sure that the Living Wage ordinance is implemented in a timely manner, and that through protecting our affordable housing we continue to have the community diversity we value. I will be a strong advocate for increased and sustained funding for the public school system from the City budget. I will work to support customer service and community involvement in public service delivery, such as recycling. I will work to protect our beach as a public recreation area. I will work to involve youth in public decision-making.

A vote for me is a vote for wise use of public funds for the things that make Santa Monica such a great place: our schools, our environmental programs, our parks, and our families. I would be honored to represent you on the City Council.
