Candidate for
Auditor-Controller/Treasurer-Tax Collector; County of Fresno

My values and philosophies are what will dictate my leadership style. Honesty and integrity are my top most values. I will treat employees, colleagues, and taxpayers with respect and honesty.

As a consverative financial leader, I will preserve the County's positive financial standing through consistent and complete accounting and financial analysis on all proposed transactions, including debt restructuring, and long-term financing projects. In order to make the right decision for the County, I commit to providing complete, comprehensive studies to the Board of Supervisors so they may make fully informed decisions.

My priorities will follow the role of each of the functions of the Auditor-Controller/Treasurer-Tax Collector's office:

• Auditor - I will be a vigilant and independent watchdog over taxpayers dollars.

• Controller - I will provide superior accounting and financial expertise to all County employees, Department Heads and Elected Officials. I will also be responsive the concerns of the vendors and contractors who do business with Fresno County.

• Treasurer - I will use prudent means to protect and maximize the County and Special Districts' resources to ensure the highest level of service to the taxpayer.

• Tax-Collector - I commit to excellence in taxpayer services and immediate responsiveness to the taxpayer on all taxpayer issues.

• County Employees & Officials - I will provide a coordinated financial approach in support of the Board of Supervisors and other County Officials.

• I will work hard as an advocate for the County taxpayers at the State and Federal levels to secure adequate funds to pay for mandated services to the people of Fresno County.

• Most importantly, I will conduct myself and the Auditor's Department in the highest ethical standards.
