Candidate for
Board Member; Fresno Irrigation District; Division 4

As a five-term member of the FID Board since 1982, I understand the needs of the water users in our District, farmers and the cities of Fresno and Clovis, regarding the delivery of water that is reliable, affordable and that meets all quality standards.

I have worked hard to preserve the District's sound financial position, and despite rising costs, we have had no tax increases in 9 years.

I have supported the Community Trails Coalition and Tree Fresno in improving the quality of life without interfering with District maintenance, and have been involved with the San Joaquin River Restoration Management Program, along with development of the Enterprise-Holland Canal Walkway.

My board experience includes service as FID President, 12 years on the Board of the Kings River Water Association, serving as Chairman from 2000 to 2002. I have gained the knowledge and experience needed to provide effective leadership in a time of increasing pressure on our water supplies.

As your Director, I will continue to support sound fiscal policies, protect our water rights, increase water supplies through underground water storage and explore ways of acquiring additional water supplies.
